Background
Founded in 2002, DASH for LaGrange is a nonprofit community development corporation. DASH is dedicated to revitalizing and making sustainable once vibrant neighborhoods. Starting in targeted neighborhoods of LaGrange, DASH takes a holistic approach to creating change in these declining neighborhoods: change for the people who live there;change in the housing stock; change in how the neighborhood is maintained; change in how neighbors manage the day to day issues in the neighborhood; and change in how the neighborhood is preceived both on the insode and on the outside. DASH offers comprehensive programs and services designed to achieve desired neighborhood revitalization outcomes. There are two primary lines of business which encompass these programs and services: Residential Redevelopment and Property & Asset Management.

To revitalize and make sustainable LaGrange's once vibrant neighborhoods by eliminating substandard housing, creating socio-economic diversity, encouraging homeownership, inviting economic development and engaging residents in active community leadership.

    5/7/2008 Major Accomplishments 2004- 2008 1. Constructed and rehabilitated 80 single-family homes in target Neighborhood. 2. Provided homeownership education and counseling to more than 1,000 clients. 3. Provided $1 million in downpayment assistance city-wide. 4. Increased the homeownership rate in target neighborhood by 20%. 5. Increased tax value of target neighborhood by $9.2 million. 6. Renovated a 12 unit multi-family complex using CDBG funds. 7. Converted a former school building into 28 apartments for seniors using the HUD Section 202 Program. 8. Developed 70 single-family lease-purchase units using LIHTC.
