Background
The Community Housing Development Corporation of North Richmond (CHDC) is a non-profit, community-based affordable housing developer whose purpose is to increase the supply of decent, quality, affordable housing in impoverished neighborhoods and provide community stability through economic development. CHDC was incorporated in 1990 through the combined efforts of several community-based organizations.

Mission
The mission of CHDC is to reverse the effects that many years of neglect have had on the residents, physical appearance, and the economic base of North Richmond and other low income communities. CHDC is committed to increasing the supply of affordable housing, eliminating blighted conditions, and improving the overall attractiveness of not only North Richmond, but also other low-income neighborhoods throughout the City of Richmond and West Contra Costa County.
