Background
ONIC was formed in 1985 as an SBA 504 CDC for economic development. Four projects were assisted under that program. In 1988, ONIC developed a 48 unit rental apartment project in Downtown Orlando, and for several reasons, including the preference of the City of Orlando, it switched to housing and neighborhood development. Since 1989, ONIC has developed or codeveloped 19 communities in Central Florida for a total of 2490 residential units. ONIC's primary activity is rental housing.
