Background
Community HousingWorks was formed by the 2002 merger of Community Housing of North County (founded in 1988) and San Diego NHS (founded in 1982). A winner of multiple national, statewide and local awards, Community HousingWorks is recognized for development creativity and competence, sound homeownership lending, strong organizational systems, and innovative resident-based initiatives to combat poverty and revitalize and build community. Our programs provide a continuum of housing assistance, leading from homelessness to stable rental housing to homeownership and serve all of San Diego County.

Mission
Community HousingWorks is a San Diego non-profit that helps people and neighborhoods move up in the world by providing a full range of housing options combined with training and support. Community HousingWorks builds and owns beautiful affordable apartments, provides unique first-time homebuyer loans and provides support and training that strengthens communities and helps kids and adults build a wealthier future.
