Background
Founded in 1965, Self-Help Enterprises (SHE) was founded by the American Friends Service Committee. Today the organization serves a 15,000 square mile region, with offices in Visalia and Madera. SHE develops, improves, and preserves the housing stock available to low income households and engages in related community development efforts.

To improve the living conditions of low income people of the San Joaquin Valley and the communities they call home.

  • Invested $388,803 in the community through Self-Help Enterprises's revolving loan fund, which leveraged $52,239,886 from conventional lenders and other sources.
