Background
South Bend Heritage Foundation, Inc. was incorporated in 1974 to work throughout South Bend and the surrounding county; however, its primary focus has been on the Near West Side neighborhood of South Bend. Since its incorporation, South Bend Heritage Foundation has directly invested approximately $45 million in residental and commercial development. It owns and manages 290+ rental units in four sites and 180,000 square feet of commercial, cultural and educational space in seven buildings. South Bend Heritage Foundation also builds and rehabilitates single-family homes.

Mission
South Bend Heritage Foundation, Inc. is a private, not-for-profit service and community development corporation that is committed to the stabilization, enhancement and empowerment of our inner city neighborhoods. Through physical development, advocacy and education, the Foundation creates an environment which promotes collaboration and embraces diversity to help assure an equitable and just future.
