Background
The Central Vermont Community Land Trust (CVCLT) was formed in 1987 as an initiative of the local community action agency in response to the poor housing quality and lack of affordability. CVCLT operates four programs to achieve its mission. (1) CVCLT has an active affordable housing development program to create rental housing, single-family homes, and ownership within mobile home parks. This program has developed 439 units of housing. (2) CVCLT operates a revolving loan fund for low and moderate income homeowners and small investors to improve deteriorated housing stock. (3) CVCLT operates a NeighborWorks Homeownership Center to increase the rate of homeownership in Central Vermont through the delivery of comprehensive services to homebuyers. (4) CVCLT provides property management services for CVCLT-owned rental housing and mobile home parks and some non-CVCLT owned properties.

Mission
The Central Vermont Community Land Trust creates and sustains safe, decent and affordable housing and builds strong and diverse communities.

Total Operating Expense (9/30/2007): $2,494,213
