    8/5/2002 CommunityWorks was named as the lead agency for the North Dakota HomeChoice Coalition, which assists families with disabled household member to find affordable loans and grants to purchase or modify a home.
    11/25/2002 Began providing specialized assistance from the Reservation Mortgage Lending Program to the Spirit Lake and Standing Rock Nations.
    6/18/2003 Received Award of Excellence from the Federal Home Loan Bank-Des Moines for a 72-home, $700,000 statewide housing rehabilitation program that assisted elderly and low-income homeowners in rural communities.
    8/21/2003 Completed Library Square, a $5 million, 46-unit development for elderly residents of low income. Library Square has become the cornerstone for the redevelopment plan of downtown Mandan, which has been impacted by the effects of an underground diesel plume.
    11/14/2003 Completed 10 homes in Lincoln, North Dakota with the Mutual Self-Help Housing Program in and began construction on 12 additional homes.
    12/31/2003 Expanded original 10-county DREAM Fund service area to 25 counties. The DREAM Fund surpassed the $1 million mark by providing 49 loans to 47 families, which helped to leverage and attract over $2.9 million in residential financing from local lenders and other funds for a total of $3.9 million in total financing. Over $1.9 million of the financing contributed to new construction.
    8/2/2004 CommunityWorks was certified as a Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) by the U.S. Treasury Department.
    2/19/2004 The North Dakota Housing Finance Agency presented CommunityWorks Executive Director Paul Rechlin with the 2004 Champion of Affordable Housing Award in the Leadership Category for his advocacy of affordable housing in North Dakota. In 2001, CommunityWorks was also presented with the award in the Production Category for the creation of the DREAM Fund.
    2/24/2005 Library Square was awarded the Champion of Affordable Housing Award in the Housing Production Category by the North Dakota Housing Finance Agency at the state housing conference. The award recognizes a program or project that best provides housing for renters, homebuyers or special needs households.
    2/2/2006 CommunityWorks is named the first nonprofit Champion of Affordable Housing by the ND Housing Finance Agency.
    3/1/2007 For the second consecutive year, CommunityWorks is awarded a Champion of Affordable Housing Award by NDHFA, and the DREAM Fund provides the $10 millionth dollar since the RLF was created in 2001.
    3/21/2008 For an unprecedented third consecutive year, CommunityWorks was presented a Lender Champion of Affordable Housing Award at the annual North Dakota Housing Finance Agency statewide housing conference.
    6/3/2009 Completed construction on Library Square II, its $5.5 million, 45-unit mixed use tax credit development and moved CommunityWorks' offices to the downtown Mandan building.
