Background
In 1982 Hudson River Housing, Inc. (HRH) was born out of a county-determined need for emergency housing for a newly emerging homeless population. The agency has grown from its first project, Gannett House, to more than a dozen additional projects spanning emergency shelters to transitional and permanent housing. In addition, HRH develops affordable rental housing and homeownership opportunities for low-income households. HRH also provides comprehensive homebuyer education programs.

Mission
Hudson River Housing, Inc. is a NeighborWorks® organization, Neighborhood Preservation Company, and a Community Housing Development Organization. HRH develops, rehabilitates, and operates emergency, transitional and permanent housing for low income and homeless families and individuals in Dutchess County. In addition to housing, HRH provides support services intended to aid residents in achieving and maintaining stable and long-term housing.
