Background
The St. Lawrence County Housing Council was organized and incorporated in 1981 by a group of residents and representatives of county government to address the unmet housing and community development needs of St. Lawrence County's numerous rural towns and villages.

Mission
To improve the quality of life enjoyed by residents of St. Lawrence County through the preservation and provision of decent and affordable housing by providing opportunities for homeownership; and, through community revitalization activities which protect the public's health, safety and economic well being.

  • Owned or managed 200 rental units.
  • Invested $1,010 in the community through St. Lawrence County Housing Council, Inc.'s revolving loan fund, which leveraged $2,758,277 from conventional lenders and other sources.
  • Total direct investment in the community is $2,759,287.
