Background
Home HeadQuarters is the largest housing and neighborhood revitalization organization in Central New York. Since 1996, Home HeadQuarters has assisted more than 1,400 Syracuse residents with major home repair totaling $17.2 million and provided counseling and/or financial assistance to more than 4000 prospective homebuyers helping to generate more than $56.4 million in home purchase mortgage financing in the Syracuse area. Home HeadQuarters is also the main implementing agency for the Syracuse Neighborhood Initiative, a private-public-non-profit collaboration initiated by Congressman Walsh to revitalize Syracuse neighborhoods. Home HeadQuarters is also a certified CDFI (Community Development Financial Institution) by the U.S. Treasury and has the ability to leverage private donations to provide both low interest loans and grants.
