Background
Incorporated in December 1992, as a nonprofit community based (C)(3) organization, Cobb Housing, Inc. (CHI) is the designated state and county "Community Housing Development Organization" (CHDO). CHI is the outgrowth of the work of its sister nonprofit organization entitled Cobb Human Services Coalition's (CHSC) Housing Team. The Housing Team was created to address the issues of affordable housing for low and moderate income residents of Cobb County, hence the creation of Cobb Housing, Inc. CHI provides the following services: FirstHome Down Payment Assistance; HomeStart Pre & Post Purchase Housing Counseling; HomeRescue Default Counseling; Home Buyer Education Seminars; HomeBound Individual Development Accounts savings program, Real Estate Development Projects.
