Background
Incorporated in 1988, the Rockingham Area Community Land Trust (RACLT) grew out of a grassroots effort in the Bellows Falls area to address the problems facing low-income residents. Today, the organization operates in 20 towns in northern Windham, southern Windsor, and a portion of Bennington Counties. RACLT owns (either solely or in tax-credit partnerships) 350 units of perpetually affordable rental housing; shares ownership of 68 single-family homes under an limited equity-sharing arrangement; actively develops new rental and ownership housing; and operates the NeighborWorks Homeownership Center in southeastern Vermont.

RACLT is a community-based non-profit organization that maiximizes affordable housing opportunities for the people of southeastern Vermont.
