Background
Champlain Housing Trust (CHT) is a nonprofit, membership-controlled community development organization. CHT creates housing for lower income families through a unique property ownership mechanism (i.e., a ground lease with limited equity provisions) which assures initial and future affordability and provides security and equity absent in other housing programs. Public and private subsidies which BCLT requires are reduced due to the elimination of speculative value. CHT also provides a full range of affordable housing and community development.

Mission
This is a newly formed organization, so the Mission Statement will be forthcoming.
