Background
Begun in 1969, PathStone is a private, not-for-profit regional community development and human service organization providing services to farmworkers, low-income families and economically depressed communities throughout New York, Vermont, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Ohio, Indiana, Virginia and Puerto Rico. PathStone has successfully operated a wide array of programs funded by federal, state, local, faith-based and private sources. PathStone is governed by a 28-member Board of Directors comprised of program participants, affiliate corporation reps and collaborative organization reps. Farmworkers and other low income participants retain majority control of the Board of Directors as required by the PathStone By-Laws.

PathStone builds family and individual self-sufficiency by strengthening farmworker, rural and urban communities. PathStone promotes social justice through programs and advocacy.

    Date Additional Accomplishment
    9/7/2004 ROI built and sold the last of 12 single family homes in the Franklin County Scattered Site project in Pennsylvania. These homes were all sold to families who graduated from ROI's first time homebuyer program.
    9/7/2004 ROI completed construction of Ada Ridge Court Apartments, a 49-unit affordable seniors complex in Greece, NY.
    10/27/2008 ROI changed its name to PathStone to better reflect the areas and populations served by the organization.
    6/8/2007 ROI celebrates our 3,000th first time home buyer at a NeighborWorks Week event in Newburgh, NY.
    9/26/2008 Construction completed on the redevelopment of the 526 unit Andrews Terrace complex in downtown Rochester -- the largest real estate development project in PathStone's history.
    12/11/2008 With technical assistance from PathStone, residents of the Champion Mobile Home Park in Elbridge, NY closed on the purchase of their community. This co-op conversion was the first manufactured home community in the country to receive financing from ROC USA Capital and the fastest such transaction ever recorded in New York (4 months from creation of the resident's association to closing).
