Center, designed to be a one-stop-shop to educate homebuyers about the ins and outs of buying and manintaining a home. Consumers learn how to plan for their housekeeping purchase,
establish a good credit rating, identify reputable lenders, and select a home that is right for them. |

Created Kansas' first Tool Lending Library, where any of CHS'
members can check out tools for home maintenance and repairs. Over 2000 tools have been checked out since its inception. |

Partnered with 8 area banks and the City of Wichita to create
Kansas' first Lenders Pool; the Heart of Wichita Lenders Pool. The program is designed for first time homebuyers to keep them safe from predatory lenders. 20 families are in homes as a
result of this program. |

Created the Kansas Homebuyers Network in partnership with
Federal Home Loan Bank of Topeka, NeighborWorks America, and 2 other NWO's - El Centro and CHWC of Kansas City. Through this program, individuals are trained to teach Homebuyers
Education, with the focus of training individuals who are from and who will bring HBE to rural areas throughout Kansas. |

program - A program between NeighborWorks America and the IRS to help educate individuals around Earned Income Tax Credit and credit scoring. |

Piloted a Community Building program with NeighborWorks America
to gage the impact of Community Building Development within organizations that work directly with community groups in leadership development and neighborhood revitalizaton. The pilot
proved that there was an increase in affordable housing, support funding, and neighborhood development where organizations across the country were doing community building with residents.
NeighborWorks America has implemented a new initiative because of the information from the pilot called Community Building. CHS is one of the 1st 20 groups accepted into the new program. |

Received Bill Kitchen Award for NeighborWorks Week projects done
by CHS. CHS has assisted with many neighborhood projects in the areas of Oaklawn, KenMar, & Fairmount. Projects range from painting homes, clearing yards, clean-ups, to education events
and even new nature trails. |

Partnered with Oaklawn Improvement District (OID) and Sedgwick
County to create the Oaklawn Neighborhood Revitalization Plan. The Oaklawn Partnership Team was then created to help implement the plan. |

CHS was a Super NOFA-TSA Grant of $100,000.00, the first of its kind in Kansas, to assist in the rebuilding of Greensburg in Kiowa County, KS which was decimated in May 2007 by an EF5 tornado. |
