Background The Neighborhood Housing Services of Hamilton Inc. (NHSH) was incorporated in May 1992. The original executive director, Ron Woolwine, retired in April of 2005. Lorie Batdorf who has been employed with the agency since 1996 was appointed Executive Director. The 9-person staff has accomplished the following: NHSH has closed 1055 loans from January 1993 through May 2003, providing over $46,263,484 in permanent financing with at total housing investment of $50,127,484. NHSH is continually one of the four highest producers in the country in the national NeighborWorks® Campaign for Home Ownership. NHSH has provided 15 percent of its lending to minority applicants, and 31 percent to single female heads of households. NHSH provides rehab supervision services for lender partners, and refers customers to city of Hamilton programs as well as social service agency programs. NHSH started its own NeighborWorks® Construction Company to rebuild current vacant properties and sell to the working poor.

We are a partnership of residents, the business community, government, and community leaders. We seek to build healthier and stronger communities that we all can be proud of. In order to accomplish this we will: Empower low and moderate income families to share the American Dream of Homeownership; Provide affordable loans and financial resources to first-time homebuyers; Build communities through neighborhood revitalization and development; Provide micro-enterprise and small business lending and technical assistance; Inspire and support resident action leaders; and Provide training and education
