Background
NHS Duluth was incorporated in October 1983 to revitalize Duluth's neighborhoods through the creation of a strong partnership of local residents, financial institutions, businesses, foundations and local governments. NHS Duluth was founded in the Lincoln Park neighborhood and expanded its programs and services into the Central Hillside, East Hillside and Endion neighborhoods. More recently NHS Duluth has expanded to included additional neighbohoods and adjoining Carlton County. Services and programs include homebuyer education and counseling, low-interest loans and grants for purchase or refinance plus rehabilitation and owner-occupied rehabilitation, provision of rehabilitation of services, and community organizing and development initiatives. NHS Duluth became a chartered NeighborWorks® member in January of 1994.
