Background
Founded in 1981, Neighborhood Housing Services of Richmond, Inc. now doing business as NeighborWorks Resource Group, has worked to transform declining urban communities with special emphasis on the Barton Heights Community located in the Northside of Richmond. The board of directors, membership and partners, work in collaboration to address the specific housing needs and blighting influences affecting the Richmond Metropolitan area. NHS of Richmond is U.S. Treasury certified Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI). and a Community Development Entity (CDE). As a NeighborWorks (r) Howmeownership Center NHS of Richmond fully embraces Full Cycle Lending and is a originating agent for Virginia Housing Development Authority and a Corespondent Lender for SunTrust Mortgage Co.
