Background
Neighborhood Housing Services of Waterbury, Inc. (NHSW) is a private, non-profit 501(c) (3) corporation established in 1980 to revitalize inner-city neighborhoods and provide housing opportunities for low/moderate income buyers. Currently, NHSW operates primarily in Northwest Connecticut, with a strong and long-standing commitment to Waterbury and its neighborhoods. NHSW's Homeownership Education and Counseling Program is offered statewide.

Mission
Neighborhood Housing Services of Waterbury is a partnership of residents, lenders, and government that is working to revitalize neighborhoods. We accomplish this by assisting homebuyers and owners to purchase and maintain their own homes, creating new homeownership opportunities, and serving as a catalyst for positive change in Waterbury and in Northwest Connecticut.

Provided $90,000 in down payment assistance for Waterbury families.
