Background
Incorporated in 1979 as a private, nonprofit organization, Neighborhood Housing Services of New Haven, Inc. helps neighborhood residents and property owners work together to improve their homes and their environment. Since its founding, NHS has selected service areas for their types of structures, degree of deterioration, and extent of homeownership.

Mission
To stabilize and revitalize our neighborhoods, and develop affordable housing for low and moderate income families utilizing a partnership of area residents, business leaders, and the City of New Haven.
