Background
The Home Ownership Center of Greater Cincinnati was established in 1972 and incorporated as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in 1973. From that time, they have developed low interest loan programs to provide funding for code-related repairs and improvements to owner-occupied homes in Cincinnati neighborhoods. The NHS has also established homeownership programs that include training seminars for prospective homebuyers, assistance in securing down payment assistance and affordable mortgage financing. The NHS also offers Community Building Programs for targeted neighborhoods.

The Home Ownership Center of Greater Cincinnati is a private, non-profit partnership of residents, businesses, and government whose mission is to strengthen communities through comprehensive home-ownership strategies.
